Martin J. Sobol:  The founder of Sobol Law Group, P.C., Mr. Sobol has expertise in the full spectrum of labor and employment law issues. Mr. Sobol began his career with the National Labor Relations Board and later went on to chair the labor and employment departments of several large prominent Philadelphia law firms before starting his own practice. Mr. Sobol is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and has been admitted in the United States Supreme Court, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He received his B.A. from Penn State University, and his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law. Mr. Sobol received or was awarded the following: (1) an AV Rated Top Lawyers of Pennsylvania; (2) Outstanding Labor Lawyer of the year by Who's Who in America; (3) America's Most Honored Professionals; and (4) Super Lawyer. For over 25 years, Mr. Sobol has been nominated by his peers with the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards.

 

 

   
   

Barry R. Elson:  Mr. Elson began his career performing internal labor relations for the Board and General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board (“NLRB”) as employers in dealing with their own employees. After working as an attorney in the Los Angeles and Philadelphia regional offices of the NLRB and the General Counsel’s division of advice in Washington, D.C., he entered private practice in 1978, with a primary concentration in labor and employment law and the remainder in civil litigation. Over the years Mr. Elson’s representation has regularly involved health care, manufacturing and service businesses, profit and not-for-profit, public and private sectors, unionized and non-union entities as well as the representation of lawyers and law firms. Mr. Elson is licensed to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Elson earned his Bachelor of Science degree in history at New York University and his juris doctorate from the George Washington University. Mr. Elson has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for consecutive years since 2003 and is a Fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

 

 

   
   

Colin P. Saltry:  Mr. Saltry is a passionate advocate with a commitment to fairness that is bone deep. Mr. Saltry joined Sobol Law Group, P.C. after several years working for a prominent Philadelphia-based employment litigation firm representing individuals in all manner of workplace disputes where he litigated claims of discrimination, retaliation, and harassment. Mr. Saltry’s experience includes actions arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the ADA, ADEA, CEPA, EPA, ERISA, NJLAD PDA, PFPO, PHRA, the Pennsylvania Whistleblower Law, and the Pennsylvania Unemployment Compensation Law. Mr. Saltry has extensive experience appearing in state and federal courts as well as appearing before administrative agencies throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Mr. Saltry is admitted to practice law in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey and maintains admission to various federal courts, including the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Born and raised in Scranton, PA; Mr. Saltry earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics at Temple University in 2012 before completing his juris doctorate as an evening division student at the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law in 2016. While enrolled at Temple Law, Mr. Saltry worked full-time as a judicial tipstaff for the Hon. Marlene F. Lachman in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas where he obtained invaluable practical trial experience as a first-hand witness to some of Philadelphia’s best – and worst – trial attorneys. Mr. Saltry was included in the Super Lawyers® list “Pennsylvania Rising Stars” in the area of “Employment Litigation,” (2023-2024). According to Super Lawyers®, the “Rising Stars” designation places him on their list of the top 2.5% of up-and-coming attorneys in Pennsylvania.
